Parents,
This morning we ate breakfast together and we talked about being great helpers by helping a friend open up their cereal when they ask, and getting friends paper towels when they spill. We worked on farm puzzles, practiced our counting by putting different amounts of airplanes in the sky, and worked on our fine motor skills by tracing stencils of farm animals. We also had farm animal cookie cutters that we used to make animals out of play dough! During circle time, we decided that it was sunny outside, so we placed the big yellow sun over our classroom tree and felt the heat from flashlight. Our calendar helper pointed to all of the numbers as we all counted to 20, and we decided we needed a purple 20 according to our pattern. Our dancing and movement helper chose to sing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider," and then he sat in front of us and showed us what hand movements to do. We went outside with Pre-K on the new playground, and we had fun playing on the monkey bars and sliding down the slides. For story time, we read "Mrs. Wishy-Washy," which was about a lady who washed a pig, cow and duck after they got dirty in the mud. During centers, we all became Mrs. and Mr. Wishy-Washies, and we cleaned muddy farm animals with sponges and soapy water! We also created horses with manes and long tails for our farm bulletin board. We went to lunch with Pre-K and then went outside with them on the big playground. This afternoon, we will work on math centers, and look at the eggs that we are waiting on to hatch!
Have a great day!
