Parents,
This morning we ate breakfast and talked about today being Earth Day! We learned about taking care of our environment and picking up trash. We worked on our fine motor skills by working with our leaping frogs and by feeding apples to a horse. We drew different objects on chalkboards, and we worked on teamwork by putting a farm puzzle together. During circle time, we decided that it was sunny outside because it was really bright, and we placed the big yellow sun over our tree. For calendar, we counted to 22 and discovered that our 22 needed to be purple to go along with our pattern. For dancing and movement, our helper chose to play "Ride That Pony," and he stood at the front of the class and showed us the movements to the song. We went outside with Pre-K and played on the playground, and had lots of fun playing in the tunnels and on the monkey bars. Since it is Earth Day today, after playing on the playground, we each got our own plastic bag, and searched around our school campus for trash. We picked up lots of trash! We found tiny pieces of trash, and really big pieces too! When we came inside, we finished our farm animal stamp painting and our chick stencils, and we went outside to the science center where we had farm animals in mud, and we cleaned the animals with sponges. We also put some rosemary in the mud, and we all smelled it's scent and planted it in the dirt. We went to lunch with Pre-K and then went outside with them on the big playground. After lunch, we will be going over to the Pre-K classroom to finish creating our farm animal bar graphs, measure caterpillars, and observe the eggs in the incubator.
Have a wonderful evening!
