April 9, 2009

Parents,
We had a wonderful breakfast together this morning with lots of great conversation. For our fine motor work we strung letters and numbers on laces, put people blocks together to create shapes and structures, and moved metal circles of different colors with a magnet. During circle time we determined that it's cloudy today and put the white cloud over the tree. We counted to 9 during calendar and added to our color pattern. We danced to "I like Potatoes" - and the best thing is that today there were baked potatoes in the cafeteria for lunch! Yay! We played outside on the new playground. For story time I read "On the Farm". We practiced making different animal sounds while we read the book. We also talked about the dog who slept with one eye open because he was on guard duty. The two centers we had open today were the art center where we continued painting our eggs, and the science center where we had lots of scoops, colored rice, and farm animals in a tub. We used the scoops to cover up the animals and then we'd look for them. Today AISD had a bus safety drill. We all went outside, boarded a bus, fastened our seat belts, and listened to safety rules. We had speech therapy with Ms. McGuire. After lunch with our Pre-K friends we played with them on the playground. This afternoon we'll continue our morning centers as we ran out of time. Have a wonderful three-day weekend! See you on Monday!
