April 8th, 2009

Parents,
Yesterday, we did not have a blog because we were on our field trip! We went to Crow's Nest Farm and we went on a hay ride, saw how they milk cows, and took a walking tour to see lots of farm animals! This morning we ate breakfast, and worked on our fine motor skills with our leaping frogs and with farm animal squirt toys that were in water. We also practiced our counting by planting different amounts of flowers in gardens and counting bunny rabbits. During circle time, we decided that it was sunny outside, and placed our big yellow sun over our tree, counted to the number 8 and decided our pattern for our numbers is pink, purple, purple, purple. Our music helper chose to sing "Lettercise," and she stood in front to show us the movements to the song. We went outside to the new playground, and had a lot of fun playing with our Pre-K friends. For story time, we read, "What Is That AWFUL Smell?" about farm animals trying to figure out what smells so terrible in their barn. For centers, we created structures in the block center for our farm animals to live in, and created roosters with our hand prints! We ate lunch with Pre-K and then went outside to the big playground and played with them. This afternoon, we will be finishing up our hand print roosters, and making a big silo for our bulletin board. We will also be filling out the rest of our farm chart, about what we learned from taking our field trip to the farm!
Have a great Wednesday!
